This Privacy Policy applies to all Android applications published on Google Play by Off-Look Innovations School, the Google Play developer account operated by Off-Look Innovations LLP, Bommasandra Industrial Area, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India ("Off-Look Innovations", "we", "our", or "us").

These are school management applications built and maintained by Off-Look Innovations LLP for individual partner schools. Each application is deployed under its partner school's branding and carries the "Powered by Off-Look Innovations" mark. All of them share a single codebase and identical data-handling practices, and this Privacy Policy governs every one of them (collectively, the "Services").

Personal Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information required for the proper functioning of the Services:

• Notification ID — used to send notifications regarding school activities, updates, and alerts.

• Device ID — collected to ensure the security and proper functioning of the Services.

• Crash analytics data — used to identify and resolve technical issues.

• Phone number — used for authentication and account management.

• Location data (school bus drivers only) — collected only from school bus drivers, only while a driver has actively enabled trip tracking, and used solely to show the live position of the school bus. See the section below.

No other personal information is collected or stored by us.

Location Data

Some of our Services include a school bus tracking feature. This section explains exactly how location data is handled.

• Whose location is collected. Location data is collected only from the devices of school bus drivers. We do not collect location data from students, parents, teachers, or any other user of the Services.

• When it is collected. A driver's location is collected only while that driver has signed in as a driver and has actively started a trip in the app. Drivers can stop sharing at any time by ending the trip or by revoking the location permission in their device settings. No location data is collected when a trip is not in progress.

• Why it is collected. The sole purpose is to display the live position of the school bus so that the school administration and the parents of students assigned to that bus route can see where the bus is during the trip.

• Background collection. Where a driver grants background location permission, location may be collected while the app is not in the foreground, so that tracking continues for the duration of the trip while the driver's device is in use for other tasks. This happens only during an active trip.

• Retention. Live location is used to display the bus position during the trip. Trip location records are retained for a limited period for route verification and safety review, and are deleted thereafter.

• No other use. We do not use location data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to school bus tracking, and we do not sell it or share it with third parties.

 

Account Creation

• Restricted access — accounts can only be created by the partner school's administration.

• Limited scope — the Services are accessible only to students and teachers of the partner school.

• No user-initiated registration — users cannot create accounts independently. All accounts are set up by authorised school administrators.

 

How We Use Data

• Notifications — your Notification ID is used to deliver school updates and reminders.

• Device analytics — crash data and device information are used to improve performance and resolve technical issues.

• Authentication — your phone number is used for secure login and verification.

• School bus tracking — a driver's location is used to display the live position of the school bus during an active trip, as described in the Location Data section above.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except as described in the section below.

 

Vendors and Third-Party Services

To provide and improve the Services, we use the following third-party vendors, which process data according to their own privacy policies:

• Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC) — crash reporting and diagnostics. See the Firebase Privacy Policy.

• Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google LLC) — delivery of push notifications.

 

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain personal information only for as long as the user's account remains active with the partner school, except for trip location records, which are retained for the limited period described in the Location Data section. Accounts are managed by the school's administration; to request correction or deletion of your information, contact your school administrator or write to us at the address below. On verified request, we delete the associated personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

 

Data Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

 

Children's Privacy

The Services are provided to schools for use by their enrolled students and staff. Accounts for students are created and administered solely by the school, which is responsible for obtaining any parental consent required under applicable law. We collect from students only the limited information listed above, use it only to operate the Services, and do not use it for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the school's administration of the Services.

 

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
